MTB Violin Grade 3 Handbook

The MTB Violin Grade 3 Handbook is the official exam resource, bringing together performance repertoire, technical exercises, and musicianship skills into one clear and structured guide.

What's Included

• Repertoire: Six graded recital pieces, plus a duet for ensemble training. (Full list included in the handbook syllabus.)
• Scales & Arpeggios (from memory):
  • Scales: A major (2 octaves), G major (2 octaves), E harmonic minor (2 octaves), G melodic minor (2 octaves).
  • Arpeggios: A major, G major, and E minor (2 octaves, separate bows and slurred patterns as required).
• Technical Exercises: Short studies and bowing exercises to develop articulation, tone, and phrasing.
• Musicianship: Reading rhythm patterns plus one of the following:
  • Listening Skills (singing back intervals, rhythms, or phrases), or
  • Duet performance (with the provided duet).

Exam Structure
